I have experience in both sports and live event management, having started and run Rodney Basketball, where I organised tournaments, managed teams, coordinated referees and coaches, ran training sessions, and worked closely with other clubs to ensure smooth operations and strong community engagement.
In addition, I have designed and managed professional wrestling events across a range of rural and community venues, including Helensville, Massey Rugby Club (sold out), Orewa Community Hall, and The Rose Centre (sold out). My role covers the full scope of event planning, from early concept through to post-show review.
This includes organising all logistics such as ring hire, transport, event set-up, wrestler coordination, volunteer management, and the wider event crew including photographers, videographers, and kitchen staff. I ensure every department understands the run sheet and has what they need for a smooth, professional show.
I also handle the marketing for each event, creating all graphics, running social media accounts, and using guerrilla marketing to reach local communities and build excitement.
On show day I oversaw the complete operation, ensuring the environment feels polished, welcoming, and on brand. After the event I follow up with attendees and talent for feedback to improve future shows.
I also manage all merchandise, from creating the designs to overseeing production, selling it at events, and promoting it through digital channels.
Additionally, I have experience setting up exhibitions, including the AUT Industrial Design exhibition, where I carefully planned the precise placement of plinths, posters, and overall layout. My focus was on creating a clean, simple environment that allowed student work to stand out and be the focal point.
